Founder’s Story
Erin Reyes and Jennifer Killpack founded Shababeek in 2013 as a center where foreigners could engage with the language, culture, and people of the Arab world in transformative environment.
It’s a well known fact that learning Arabic is not easy. This is why Shababeek is constantly developing new resources and innovative techniques for helping non-Arabic speakers achieve fluency. Having delivered more than 600,000 hours of Arabic instruction, Shababeek has a long history of empowering learners in their journey towards cultural and linguistic understanding.

A Transformative Environment
At Shababeek, we pride ourselves in providing sustainable employment and professional advancement for our talented and hard-working staff.
Eighty percent of our employees are women, a rarity within a male-dominated workforce, and we are committed to cultivating leaders from within the community. Our innovative approach to social enterprise also includes offering interest-free micro-loans as we seek to invest in the economic, social, and professional well-being of our staff.
